Middleburg Christmas Parade

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas and it’s time to head west to the foothills of Virginia. As now it has become a tradition for me every year since I moved to Washington, a great way to kick off the Christmas season is to go on the first weekend of December to Middleburg.  Although the town puts on its Christmas best for the whole day in a Dickens fairytale environment, it’s the Parade that young and old wait for on Federal Street.  The crowd assembles, the participants are ready . . . and here we go! Check out my pictures and see it for yourself.

The Middleburg Christmas Parade features a unique assortment of floats, marching bands, local community groups, antique cars,  vintage bikes, motorcycles, mariachis and a variety of animals including horses, ponies and dogs.

Indeed it’s the most wonderful time of the year… definitely here in Middleburg, VA.

I visited Middleburg during the Christmas celebration last year. What a fun time! Met people there from all over the East Coast and hoping to go back some day. I love your pictures. The dogs were truly a highlight.

I wish our Christams season lasted until New Year’s. It’s so beautifully festive in the middle of the dreadful winter months.
