Enchanting Patmos

This is my Patmos: A spiritual island that will not only please the eyes, but the soul.  After all, it is here that St. John received visions and wrote the Book of Revelation in 95 AD. With picturesque cobbled alleys cut through beautiful mansions of the 17th century, this island has more than meets the eye.  Hope you enjoy my pictures of the town of Patmos.

I have been hearing more and more about Patmos. I think it will be my next destination when I make it to Greece. I have heard of the amazing library in the monastery.

The first thing you notice on the island is that development has not ruined the sacred atmosphere which is so unique to this piece of land.

This island seems to be in the news a lot recently – I have heard many friends visiting and staying at beautiful villas. And the beaches seem also magnificent.

It looks so peaceful in Patmos. I intend to spend one week after the wedding festivities. And of course, a pilgrimage to the cave seems to be a must do.

I just saw a documentary on this island. It looks like a lot of history occurred there, staring with the crusades that passed through. I can’t even imagine.

I have never heard of this island – but it looks like a very important location for Christians and the Christian faith. Upon reading a little bit about it (as I was intrigued by your pictures), it has one of the most important libraries. I anticipate visiting this island.

I highly recommend a visit to Patmos – I went with a scholarly group from a cruise through the Aegean from Barcelona. Incredible beauty everywhere.

Patmos becomes a French colony in the summer – I have many friends who own and rent houses on this beatiful Greek paradise. Simplement magnifique.

I have read about this religious island but was unaware it was in Greece. One more reason to visit this spectacular country.

I have visited friends from Paris who own spectacular houses in town under the monastery. Magnificent island with important Christian history.
